| Invitation to Operators -- PJ2C |
|
We need you. The CCC is a loosely-organized group of ops who focus on fun first and on points second. (But points are a very close second.) There is no official "membership." If you come operate with us, you become part of the group! We have a super bunch of people, have had great fun in past years (VP5FXB, VP5CW), and have scoerd well, winning the North America plaques in the ARRL CW the last two years. The more people we can sign up, the more fun we'll have, the more points we'll score, and the lower the per-person costs will be. Please be sure you read everything by clicking on all the links at the left. Study about Curacao from those links also. Click on the costs section. If you have questions, e-mail or call Geoff, W0CG at ghoward@kent.edu or call 1.330.628.5707.
Also, please be sure you understand that this is NOT a high-profile operation. It will be in a couple of years, but for now we do not have the big-gun antennas we have had in years past. Hopefully, the prime location will make up for this to some degree.
You need to plan to arrive on Tuesday, October 26, leaving the following Tuesday, November 2.
If you want to join us, please feel free. You do NOT have to be a hotshot contest operator to contribute. We'll train you if you're not familiar with computer logging. The goal is to score as high as possible, of course, but without losing sight of the additional goal of having FUN.
To secure a spot, please send a deposit for $500 to Geoff Howard, W0CG, 1984 Trares Road, Suffield, OH 44260. If you need to back out, it will be very difficult for us to refund your deposit, as most of it will already been paid to Kadushi Cliffs. If you have to back out, after the operation is over, we'll refund as much as is left after costs have all been covered.
