These photos were shot with W0CG's bargain-basement digital camera. E-mail me for advice on what brand name and model NOT to buy. ghoward@kent.edu

Visitors: Jose Cyntje, PJ2MI, seated next to the lamp. "Jossy" bent
over backward to support us before and during the trip, and is storing some equipment
until the next trip. We tried to talk him into resuming work on his autobiography -- it
would be quite a story!!
|
Brett Ruiz, PJ2BR, President of "Verona" -- the Curacao amateur radio club. Great guys, these gentlemen made us feel immediately at home in their country, and underscore precisely what amateur radio is all about! |

| On the couch
(L-R): PJ2BR, K8RF, and PJ2MI. In the foreground Geoff, W0CG, and Noel, W9EFL. K8RF went nuts meeting PJ2MI,
as Jossy was his first-ever PJ2 QSO, many years ago!!

Noel, W9EFL,
performing surgery on the IC-765. The operation was a success and we were on the air soon
afterward. Station number 2 is in the background at the right, and the gear on the left
rear is the Internet spotting computer, which now lives on PJ2 in our storage locker.

| W8KKX running
Qs during the contest. Notice the Yaesu world amateur map on the wall, picked up at the
Dayton Hamvention by Cindy, W0CG's XYL, and imported to PJ2!!

This is K8RF operating 10 meters on Sunday afternoon, during which he had the CT rate meter above 500/hour at several points. There are several places in the log where W0CG was logging 8 QSOs/minute, and N4OKX also had the rate meter above 500. Unfortunately, that did not balance out the slow times or make up for our equipment glitches. |
